An die Nachrichtenredakteure der westdeutschen Presse, soweit sie nicht Springerpresse ist, und der Rundfunk- und Fernsehanstalten:

Willy Brandt hat in seiner Fernsehansprache am 26. Mai behauptet, für die Bombenattentate der letzten Wochen gebe es keine einsehbare politische Begründung, das Leben Unschuldiger sei durch sie gefährdet worden.
Der Bundeskanzler konnte mit diesen Behauptungen die Bevölkerung täuschen, weil die westdeutsche Presse die Erklärungen der Stadtguerillakommandos nahezu vollständig unterschlagen hat.
Stattdessen hat die Frankfurter Rundschau einen aus Buchstaben zusammengesetzten Brief verbreitet - dessen Charakter als Fälschung bei einem Vergleich mit authentischen Veröffentlichungen der RAF offensichtlich ist, - um den Eindruck zu vermitteln, die Bombenattentäter seien Wirrköpfe, die chaotisch handeln, was die Bevölkerung in der Tat beunruhigen müßte. So unterscheidet sich die Erklärung des Kanzlers in nichts von ähnlichen Erklärungen der Generale Franco und Patakos, von Iloweida, den Nachfolgern Salazars, der türkischen Militärdiktatur:
nicht der Inhalt der Sache, nur ihre Verurteilung durch Kanzler und Komentatoren ist bekannt gemacht worden.
Die Gründe für das Verfahren liegen auf der Hand:
Die Erklärung des Kommandos Thomas Weisbecker würde jeden einzelnen Polizisten dazu bringen, noch einmal darüber nachzudenken, ob er sich an der Fahndung nach der Roten Armee Fraktion aktiv beteiligt oder nicht;
Nachforschungen würden ergeben, daß das Kommando 2. Juni den Springerkonzern rechtzeitig gewarnt hat, daß Springer wie immer lügt;
die Bevölkerung, die aus ihrer eigenen Geschichte weiß, was Völkermord ist und Bombenterror gegen Zivilbevölkerung, könnte sich ihre eigenen Gedanken machen über die Bombenanschläge gegen die Massenmörder von Vietnam; über den Faschismus des Springerkonzerns;
und es könnte kein Zweifel daran aufkommen, daß die Bombenanschläge ausschließlich gegen die Feinde des Volkes gerichtet sind, die Feinde der Arbeiterklasse, die Feinde des vietnamesichen (sic.) Volkes, die Imperialisten.
"Wir sitzen alle in einem Boot" ist seit je die Parole der Ausbeuter und Faschisten.

Springer hat unter der Drohung weiterer Bombenanschläge die an ihn gestellten Forderungen, wenn auch verstümmelt, publiziert.

Die übrige Presse muß wissen, daß sie selbst Aktionen gegen den Springerkonzern provoziert, wenn sie sich aufgrund des ökonomischen Drucks, der von Springer ausgeht, freiwillig und opportunistisch dessen Zensurpraxis unterwirft.
Wir fordern sie deshalb auf, die Bevölkerung nicht länger über den politischen Inhalt der Bombenanschläge zu täuschen, d.h. die Situation nicht unnötig zu verschärfen.
Wir fordern sie auf, diese Erklärung, die Erklärung des Kommandos Thomas Weisbecker, des Kommandos 2. Juni, des Kommandos 15. Juli vollständig abzudrucken.

To those editors in the West German press who are not associated with Axel Springer, and also to the radio- and TV-broadcasters:

Willy Brandt claimed in his TV speech on 26th of May that there were no understandable political reasons for the bomb attacks of last week and that innocent lives were endangered by them.
Because the West German press almost completely hid the messages of the guerrilla commandos, the chancellor was able to bluff the public with his claim.
Instead, the Frankfurter Rundschau published a letter made of cut out letters - whose false character was obvious when compared to authentic publications of the RAF - to give the impression that the assassins are scatterbrained anarchists, a statement which should indeed alarm the public. So, Brandt's speech doesn't differ in any way from the usual speeches of the generals Franco and Patakos, from those of Iloweida, the successors of Salazar or the Turkish military dictators:
the facts of the matter have not been made known, only their condemnation by the chancellor and the press.
The reasons are clear:
the statement of Commando Thomas Weisbecker would force every single policemen to think again about his active involvement in the tracing for the Red Army Faction; inquiries would show that Commando '2. Juni' gave the Springer Group ample warning, so Springer is lying, as always;
the public, which knows genocide and bomb terror from its own history, can make up its own mind about the bomb attacks against the mass murderers in Vietnam; about the fascism of the Springer Group;
and there could be no doubt that the bomb attacks are directed only against the enemies of the people, against the enemies of the working class, against the enemies of the Vietnamese people, the imperialists.
"We're all in the same boat" is the slogan of the exploiters and fascists as ever.

Under the threat of further bomb attacks, Springer publicised the requirements demanded of him, even if shortened.

The remaining press should know that they themselves are provoking actions against the Springer Group when they are, due to his economical impact, voluntarily and opportunistically subjecting to Springer's censorship.
We therefore call on them to no longer keep the public in the dark about the political content of the bomb attacks, i.e. not to worse the situation needlessly.
We call on them to print this statement and the statements of Commando 'Thomas Weisbecker', Commando '2. Juni' and Commando '15. Juli' completely.

SERVE THE PEOPLE!
DOWN WITH SPRINGER!

One of the first things I had major trouble with was translating ENTEIGNET as in ENTEIGNET SPRINGER! The original English translation was "Dispropriate" or something like that, but that sounds really awkward to me as a native English speaker. The meaning of "enteignen" is "to (forcibly) rip (or take) ownership of something away from someone". For the moment I have simply translated it as "Down with Springer", but if anyone can come up with a better translation, that would be great!
